My mother and I were very much looking forward to the high tea as part of a quick trip to Toronto. The hotel itself is quite lovely, as for the tea, truly wonderful potential but poor execution. Tea Sandwich bread was air-stale, no real wows of deliciousness. Pastries and sweets ... were oversweet and imbalanced, cakes were dry. Service was surprisingly poor for the price and luxury promise of the hotel, no cold water refills, weird confusion in asking for another pot of tea, had to repeatedly flag down to get any service. No music or real ambiance in the room. Would have happily paid $40 per person for this experience, not worth $90-100 per person. Read more
During our memorable stay at the Omni hotel a few months ago, the highlight was undoubtedly the delightful evening spent at the Vicotra Cafe. The combination of great company and a fantastic dinner made our experience truly special. Opting for the Salmon entree, we were treated to a culinary masterpiece that ... left our taste buds singing with delight until the very last bite. The dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the chef's skill in balancing flavors and textures. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident, making it a standout choice. Adding to the enjoyment of our evening was our server, who went beyond the call of duty to provide not just impeccable service but also entertainment. Their engaging and lively personality kept us laughing throughout the night, elevating the overall dining experience. In essence, our visit to the Vicotra Cafe at the Omni hotel was a symphony of culinary excellence, delightful ambiance, and exceptional service. It left an indelible mark on our stay, making it a cherished memory. We look forward to returning and relishing the impeccable hospitality that defines the Omni hotel experience. Read more
Lovely space for high tea. The tea room was large and spacious with beautiful cups and a great selection of teas. Our server Dey was attentive and polite. All the food was all fantastic. Potato leek soups came in a shot glass and left us wanting more. Not your average ... tea sandwiches - they were well crafted and tasted phenomenal. The only complaint is that there were quite a few sweets and not enough savory servings. Would have traded some of the sweets for more savoury options. Overall, very lovely. The high tea menu + a glass of prosecco cost about $100. Read more
I was super excited to go to King Edward's Victoria tea room, the atmosphere was beautiful and our server Dey was a delight. He was very attentive and explained about the teas and how our high tea would be served. However, the savory part of the High Tea was just a ... few pieces of super tiny tasty sandwiches that quickly disappeared. The sweet part of the High Tea was plentiful, the scones were miniature. We ended up taking most of the sweet stuff in a doggy box. For the price I expected a lot more!! Read more
The staff were very friendly and accommodating of two moms with two infants and some dietary requests which was much appreciated. As for the high tea itself; as someone pointed out before me, there’s not much ambiance (it’s like having your continental breakfast at a hotel). None of the savoury ... items really hit the spot. The desserts were hit and miss as well. Definitely not the type of experience I was expecting for the price. Again, we did appreciate the very friendly and understanding staff. Read more
