Nice at atmosphere and good service but the food is absolutely overpriced. I got the Shakshuka and it wasn’t worth nearly $20. A note about the service, while the server was nice and attentive, I don’t think she washed her hands when she was preparing my order. When I came in, ... she was sweeping the floor with a broom. It was first time trying a simit, and I’m so glad I had it here. Simit & Chai has a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly which makes the cafe that much more inviting. Unassuming from the outside, but a chic interior with exposed brick and a good playlist for working or studying! I had the everyday breakfast sandwich - cream cheese and cucumber. Perfect light lunch.

It’s a lovely cafe with the true Turkish cafe vibe. Shakshuka was amazing but the “meat, cheese and other things” was not quite our taste. There are a good variety of sweets and pastries, but the breakfast menu is pretty limited. I really enjoyed the vegan bagel sandwich. The olive paste they use is delicious. There were lots of other bagel sandwiches that I cannot wait to try! There’s also a good selection of baked goods, both savoury and sweet. I got the pistachio croissant-like baked good and it was light and ... not overly sweet. There’s seating inside and outside.
