I’ve had great bagels from Kiva’s in the past (catered), so went to the Yonge St. location expecting the same experience. No such luck. With only one staffer working the Saturday noon shift there was an overly long wait as they were busy toasting bagels to make sandwiches. But the reason I ... won’t be back is that when we got home and immediately had a few of the bagels, they were not fresh. My go - to bagel place! Nowhere else can I find this kind of texture and taste. They don't even need to be toasted, they're perfect as is. Love how the outside is firm and a little salty, around a mild, perfectly chewy yet airy centre. 'Extra seeds' bagel is my ... favourite. Read more

Went there at 8:15 am today to get gluten free bagel, there were no bagels on the shelves, bagels just came in and all in 1 container mixed together, their gluten free bagels that were on display and packed were old. The lady said they do not have fresh gluten ... free bagels! Never to go back in this bagel store and will tell people about this awful experience! Read more

My boyfriend and I come here on Saturday/Sunday mornings when we don't want to go out for brunch but still want to treat ourselves. Their lox + cream cheese twisted bagel is to DIE for. They put so much cream cheese that it's coming out of the sides, the salmon ... is delicious, and their veggies are always fresh. It couldn't be further from the quality that you get at the Eglinton location. I've never been disappointed here, and the people are always super lovely. Read more

Having grown up enjoying the original Kiva''s location I looked forward to going to the relatively new franchised location at Yonge and St. Clair with my Dad today. I was utterly disappointed. The service was horrible, with the waitresses literally grunting when they dropped us the menus, and when they ... took our order. Overall, they were very rude, as if they did not want to be at work that day. Further to that they did not check on us even once. My tuna salad was ok, but the bagels are definitely a different recipe from the original (not nearly as good), and my glass of milk was actually warm. To top it off there was not even any hot water running in the washroom. Overall, not pleased! Read more
