This is the place for the iconic peameal bacon in a bap. The sandwich was quite tasty. Bacon is substantial & taste more like ham in the UK. Bap was soft. It was nice to try the local specialty though I can’t say I find it mesmerising.
I visited the St. Lawrence market Saturday morning to try the peameal bacon sandwich. It was a great simple sandwich...on the pricey side around $9 with tax but I was a first timer. The bun was fresh. The bacon was tender with no grisly fat pieces and had the perfect saltiness. I ... had mine with the honey mustard. There were a number of sauces you could put on it. I would go again. I would like to try some of their other items. I also picked up two donuts. A sugar donut and a chocolate dip. No more that $2 each. They were fresh. Good amount of icing on the dipped one although I preferred the simple sugar donut. They had a number of different items for sale although I didn't really hang around analyzing the menu board. I knew what I came for. Read more
Located in St Lawrence Market, this world famous stall sells Peameal Bacon Rolls and other savoury sandwiches. Expect a line due to its popularity. Enjoyed my breakfast roll with maple mustard.
Another fave go to place when I'm in St. Lawrence Market is Carousel Bakery. I know a lot of people prefer Uno Mustachio's Veal Parmigiana but I love Carousel's amazing Italian Veal Parmigiana sandwich. Aside from being cheaper (than Uno's), the sandwich is loaded with the right amount of meat sauce and ... toppings. It starts with a soft ciabatta bread and nestled inside is a sliced veal cutlet, breaded and crispy loaded with rich tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. One bite and your mouth is hit all at once with a sweet, savoury, umami flavour. I tried their other sandwiches but I think the veal sandwich is the one worth trying. Service albeit unfriendly is fast as they have lots of staff to help you. Read more

Finally came around to trying the famous peameal bacon sandwich at Carousel Bakery. Soft bread, two decent slices of back bacon, we added an egg, and your choice of sauces. Solid sandwich. Nice folks.
