I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yasu for an omakase experience, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was extraordinary, with each course meticulously prepared and presented. A great experience although quite pricey (185 pp). We sat at the bar and could see how the sushi chefs prepared the food, as well as listen to them explain where each item came from. Each sushi piece and the appetizer were good, and the freshness of the fish could ... be tasted. I'd recommend it for those who haven't tried it yet. One of a lifetime experience I would say. I love how the chef was so dedicated and exceptionally handled the food. Every dish is seasonal. The best sushi was Sea Eel (not freshwater eel that we usually eat). It's like butter that melts in your mouth. The meal consists of 16 ... courses. Incredible experience! Every dish was amazing and all of the staff and chefs were so kind and attentive. The firefly squid, bluefin tuna, and handmade cherry blossom ice cream for dessert (?) we’re my favorites. Came here for my husbands birthday and they even added a candle in our desert! ... Wow. What an incredible experience. From start to finish, the service was amazing. We were promptly seated at our reservation time at the counter. It is a small restaurant with maybe 12 seats. We were greeted by waitstaff and the chef himself, and informed about the prix-fixe menu. 17 courses of purely ... amazing sushi and sashimi. Oysters from British Columbia, and various fish from Hokkaido, Osaka, and other places I was sure to forget. Lovely preparation throughout in a variety of ways. The chef was very willing to accommodate your preferences. We were constantly trying to pick favourites, but everything was so delicious. The golden eye snapper, smoked mackerel,and various Uni presentations were all phenomenal. Truly a 5 star experience. Toronto is lucky to have a restaurant like this. Read more
