szechuan beef wasn't special, bbq pork was dry and flavorless. everything tasted of miso
Been ordering from here for years. Always great food. Last order was phenomenal!!! Over the top fantastic. So good so hot and fresh. Classic Danforth Chinese food. Tons of flavours lots of spice if you order it that way. Would highly recommend a try.
Oh so you think it's "cheap"? This is very deceptive. All of their meat, especially beef and pork are LEFTOVER CUTS from the butcher which no one wants to buy, only good for flavour in soup. 50-75% of the total quantity of meat you will be getting is cartilage and ... bone, and even the 25-50% of the remaining meat will be very difficult to chew. If you want to purchase anything there - go with chicken or shrimp, it's the only way you have a chance of actually getting your money's worth. As far as taste of the "rest", - it's OK, acceptable if a bit on the bland side. Chicken congee for example is not even salted. So if you think it's cheap, ask yourself, would you pay $10 for the pleasure of eating mostly chicken fried rice and sprouts, added to the dubious "excitement" of searching for tiny shreds of edible meat on sweet and sour BONES and picking out hard sinews stuck in your teeth? There is no "dine in" option, and the only reason I give it 2 stars and not 1 is because food is prepared very quickly and the restaurant is open late. Oh, I held back the review until I ate there a few times, and just so that you don't think I'm exaggerating about "Sweet and Sour BONES", - please take a look at the photo below. Warning: if you have a weak stomach, - don't look at it. Shows the amount of bone and inedible cartilage you get with every beef/pork meal. Read more
When I read the reviews for Wing Wing, I was skeptical. But after reading good reviews for places that wound up disappointing, I was willing to give it a try. For $6.50 I got dinner D, which was an eggroll, honey garlic ribs (which is my go to dish for ... Chinese places) and rice. The meal was fresh and hot, the eggroll, while a little greasy, was hot and tasty. The highlight, though, was the ribs. I've been disappointed before with ribs that were either tough, or poorly flavored. Wing Wing's ribs were perfectly cooked. The meat was very tender, and the fat melted in my mouth. It was adequately sauced, and the flavor was throughout. The rice had big pieces of chicken and paired with the sauce very well. I don't normally review restaurants, and maybe I have specific tastes, but this was well worth writing about. Read more
