Reviews for Touhenboku Ramen Restaurant in Toronto, Ontario
Great options but I was a little disappointed with the spice level of the spicy ramen. The gyoza had a nice crust on one side but could have used a different dipping sauce for them. Overall it was good food and will probably be back the next time I’m in ... Toronto. Read more
I’ve been coming to this place on and off for years now. And I’ve always thought of it was an OKAY spot, but lately it’s gone downhill enough that I won’t be returning. The noodles and the eggs are decent but the flavour is only okay. The gyozas are all frozen ... and refried. Value is alright. What’s really annoyed me now about this place is their seating. Seems to me they’ve added more tables and crammed everyone next to each other like sardines. Look at the picture I posted, the one on the left is my partner and the one on the right is someone at the NEXT TABLE. It’s ridiculous. Food courts aren’t this crowded. This alone is an absolute no on my end. Read more
Surprisingly good. The noodles are on point and their soups are pretty similar to what you can get in Japan. Their Tonkotsu broth especially. I enjoyed it here! I had their tomato chicken ramen as I'm a fan of tomato soups. Could use a bit more tomato flavour!
Chicken Miso Ramen ($18.45) is excellent with rich broth and chewy noodles. Takoyaki ($9.45) was crispy with big octopus pieces and the perfect amount of sauces. Service is quick and attentive. This place is amazing, might be my new favorite Ramen spot!
I hate to give bad reviews, because I understand that restaurants are doing their best. To preface: I’ve eaten here before and had the exact same order - the special spicy pork ramen with a side of gyoza. It was fine. However, this time around the broth tasted (quite literally) ... like water. 4 of my fellow patrons also had the same order and definitely agree. 1 star for the food because of this. For the atmosphere, they unfortunately couldn’t turn the ceiling fans off. I understand if rules are rules - feedback for the restaurant: it’s way too cold in here. Overall, not great. I will not be coming back again until they address these issues. Your mileage may vary! Best, Kalil Magtoto @kalilsm Read more
