I'm so sorry to report that Luisa, the original owner who had recently taken the restaurant back over, is once again gone. The restaurant was closed for a few weeks, and upon returning I discovered all new staff. I asked if they were under new ownership, and was told that ... Luisa was tired and wanted to retire and that there was a new owner. I was so disappointed, I had really wanted to see the place come back to its former glory, as I believe she did. I ordered a pad Thai and Tom Kha Kai, but was eventually told they couldn't make the soup because they weren't yet equipped to make it. I was told Luisa was passing down the recipes to the new cooks so that the dishes remain the same. My first bite was so disappointing, there was nothing remotely similar to Luisa's pad Thai. I get no joy in saying that it was one of the most bland and dry pad Thai's I've had in Toronto :( I'm very sorry to post a negative review, I really wish the new owners well. I'd like to continue ordering there, but frankly it was worse than the owners that Luisa took back over from. I hope the new owners will consider putting a little love and care into their dishes, otherwise they'll lose all the customers that loved Thai Shan Inn. I'll give the place another chance in a month or two, to see if there's been any improvement, once they get a hang of it. Read more
