I went here because the menu reminded me of Edo Japan (I miss Edo Japan in Toronto...). I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken & Beef as that was my go-to Edo order. The staff seemed disinterested (it was just before the lunch rush) and the cook for some reason had to ask ... what my order was several times even though I was the only person there. When it comes to preparing food like this I accept that they might have to batch prepare the meat so the lunch rush can be done quickly but this was absurd. The cook grabbed some previously prepared beef from under the counter and then threw it on the stove for a few minutes to heat up and it was really dry. The chicken was already on the stove in an area I couldn't see and was clearly sitting there a while as the crust it developed was substantial. Also the beef was thin slices and the chicken was in chunks which makes no sense to me. They didn't add any additional sauces while cooking so it was very bland. Compounding this was the fact that the sticky rice was drastically overcooked to the point of being mush. The bean sprouts were okay but they give you way too much of them. Oh, and the sauce was incredibly flavorless. The portion size seems to be about the same as the other Asian fast food options in the financial district so it should be enough to fill you up. In all likelihood I will not be coming back here. There are just better options downtown that do this style. Read more
