I've been to this restaurant at lest 4 or 5 times since it's close to where I live and I really like the food here. The quality of the food is on par with well known sushi restaurants like Sushi on Bloor (which I've been to many times) with exception ... to the pricing, no other place in the city beats Sushi on Bloor's value. The staff is also as nice but the reason I've not given this place a full 5 stars is because I think the food takes too long to arrive. I've been here when there were only 4 other people in there and it still took quite a while. Now compare that to Sushi on Bloor which takes about the same time but with all the seats occupied and people also placing take out orders it is quite bad for a restaurant to not be busy and take that long. The ambiance is pretty standard like most other low to mid-range priced sushi restaurants but the music....Oh my God!.. I mean I was fine with the jazz right until Celine Dion started playing and then I just wanted to stab my eardrums with the chopsticks. My all time favourite items on the sushi menu is the Fusion Roll and the Volcano roll (pictured). The Volcano roll is deep fried making it nice and crunchy on the outside and warm and mushy on the inside, garnished with a drizzle of spicy mayo and eel sauce on the top unlike the Volcano roll at To-Ne Sushi on Queen St that was quite different, but of course the names of rolls don't mean anything and it clearly seems that they are just randomly thrown at a dish just to say that "Hey we have a volcano roll too just like the other restaurants". The Fusion Roll is the one topped with tempura bits in the picture which is quite delicious as well. Read more
