very large, chunky, and overall juicy. Joe Mama was very big and flabbergastering. Honestly the waiters were very floccinaucinihilipilificatious but i managed. Very good. 9.5/10

I don't do restaurant reviews, but this was by far the worst service I received by the hostess. I'm from NY, and was meeting friends in Toronto. As soon as I started speaking with the hostess to let her know we were going to the bar, she was very rude, ... and told us we were unable to come into the bar because their was too many of us. (It was about 8:30p.m. with maybe 14 people at the bar, and their was 8 of us) But then told us if we were to stand at the bar we would have to pay a cover charge. (10 dollars specifically) So while we were trying to figure out our plans, she asked us to step out of the restaurant. We were dressed in dressy casual, and we are not a rowdy group by any means. The way she spoke to us and didn't want us to be in the restaurant was very disturbing and even gave me a hard time when I wanted to talk to the manager. Went to Joe Mamas as a recommendation for our first night as new Torontonians. After moving and unpacking for a couple of days we wanted to get out and enjoy the downtown scene. Joe Mama's was absolutely fantastic! Loved it! Had a Jambalaya Rigatoni to DIE FOR! I crave it ... regularly. The atmosphere was awesome and the service was excellent. Thanks for a great night! Went there with my girls last night and handsdown best food and staff. The entertainment there was amazing!!! The band Sugga was playing and they sure know how to get the crowd going. One tip I recommend you do is if you're going with a group and want separate billing, ... just mention that during your reservation and to your waitress as well. Great place! Read more

The first time I went here I absolutely loved it. I went with a group of 6 and were seated right away. The food was excellent, the music was good, and we all had a good time EXCEPT for the person in my party who didn't receive their meal... like ... at all. No one brought their food. By the time they were able to flag down the waitress to let her know that their food had not come yet, everyone was almost done eating, so they cancelled the order. Willing to overlook this, I decided I wanted to book a large party for a birthday. I called to make reservations and was told that reservations of more than 4 people MUST order off of the $45 dollar set menu. This seemed crazy to me. Why would you risk losing the business that a large party would bring, simply because we would like to order off of the regular menu? This left a bad taste in my mouth as I was really looking forward to going there. I don't think I will return after this experience. I'm not willing to have my credit card charged $45 dollars for every person who cancels or doesn't want to order off of the set menu. Think about your customers guys! Read more
