Food and service was ok. We sat on the patio, which was nice because even though it was located in a busy area, it felt private. Our server brought us waters, but our cups were covered in something brown and sticky. We brought it to our servers attention, she picked up ... the cups and noticed it too. However it seemed like more of a chore to her to get us new waters, with no apology for the gross cups. Our food came in a decent amount of time. We ordered fish & chips, and a turkey wrap. The batter on the fish had already crumbled off the fish when it got to our table and the fries were stale. The wrap was ok, nothing really special about it, and it was decent portion. We had breakfast for lunch. The food was alright. A little expensive for the quality they serve. We called for fish chips, steak breakfast, pancakes big breakfast some cocktails. Great place for brunch on a sunny day A quick walk from union station and mostly tables are available whenever you go

The location is fantastic and some.favorites on the menu are great such as a milkshake, chicken parmesan, lasagna and hamburgers for those who enjoy diner style hamburgers. Ordered the stir fry and it was cooked but stale so we returned it and ordered something else. The service was reasonable even after ... our request. The server was polite and helpful. Generally didn't enjoy the quality of food. Modestly flavorful and somewhat heavy on the use of oil. Read more

This is my first time visiting Fran's and it was a good first impression. According to my wife, this is one of the nicer locations. It is located not too far away from St. Lawrence market in a nice quiet location. I recommend the patio during the summer. It is ... quiet with a great view of nearby Berczy park. I visited on a Saturday afternoon for brunch (there is no specific brunch menu but there is all day breakfast). It was busy and we did have to wait a few minutes for the hostess to get to us. However she was apologetic and we were seated on the patio quickly. We were going to order the Big Breakfast but opted for a stack of pancakes (4 in a stack) to share and individual omelettes. It was a bit unexpected that cheese is not included with the omelette and is a separate charge. The food did take a while but I wouldn't say it was more than a typical wait. Everything came out hot and seemed freshly made, so worth the wait. The omelette was good and the breakfast potatoes were hot and fresh and I liked that they were lightly salted. The highlight for me were the pancakes, they were very tasty. They seem to have their own in house branded syrup and it complemented that pancakes well. I would recommend giving Fran's a try. This place has saved me more than one occasion where it was late at night and I was starving. The quality of food is consistent each time and love the all day breakfast option. It's basic but more than edible with something for everyone. 4/5 for convenience....unfortunately ... not open 24/7. 4/5 for atmosphere...clean and bright for a late night diner. 3/5 for food presentation. 3.5/5 for taste and food quality. This place is reliable in a pinch and the patio is nice and bustling with great people watching. Read more
