Reviews for Butter Baker in Toronto, Ontario
The atmosphere was very peaceful, relaxing and welcoming from the moment I stepped in. The cakes and pastries in the display looked delicious. I came to try the mango soft serve, only available during the month of July. The mango taste was very strong and was not an artificial syrup-like taste ... which I loved. The waffle cones are also freshly made and are not an extra cost. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and soft serve here. I would say the price is a bit steeper than other soft serve places, being just under $8 after tax for the cone. We came back for brunch and all the food was amazing! The potatoes were well seasoned, the sauces complemented the food well, and the waffles were amazing:) Read more
Came here for breakfast the other day - the market was crowded but filled with lots to look at and the dining area was small but super clean. Wasn’t impressed with the sit in service, we sat down for a while before someone informed us we needed to scan and order ... from our phones. Once we figured out how to order the food came out promptly. We were both pleased with our breakfasts, the smoked salmon was super fresh and the waffles were perfect combination of airy and crispy. After breakfast we got ice cream, the weekly flavour was lemon meringue and toasted marshmallow, wasn’t sure how well the flavour would blend but it was extremely testy! Read more
Tiny space to dine in at the back yet we were able to get a table at brunch on a weekend without waiting too long. Options weren't boring but familiar to typical breakfast. The quality itself was good but I did expect a little better for the breakfast. The baking (croissant and cookie) ... were too notch though! 👌🏽 I would definitely go back and can't wait to taste all the other goodies! Kind staff. Tight space. Wouldn't recommend for accessibility. Washrooms available. Read more
This bakery changed a lot since it first opened. I originally would go here for the famous lemon meringue croissant and honestly, I wasn't a fan but I'm not the best person to ask about anything meringue based. I didn't think I gave it a good shot so I came ... back and selected pastries that fit more of my flavour profile. And now, I consistently think about the bakery like all the time. I recommend it to people all the time. I can't say much about the Cafe part since I haven't really gone to the 'restaurant' area of the bakery. I'm vouching more about the bakery aspect of it. I love the croissants themselves. I like the standard plain ones, I love any of the savoury ones, and some fruit ones. My go-to is the strawberry custard croissant (don't know the official name). When I'm in this part of the city, I usually pick that and something new up because my fiancé and I crave Butter Baker on a daily basis. It's a crime I don't come home with a pastry knowing I passed by it. I'd also love to give a shout out to different things they offer - I love the variation of their coffees/lattes/beverages. I also love their soft serve in the summer time! I will always be returning for the baked goods, but I'd also love to try the cafe at one point ! Read more
Tried their ice cream cone - one of the best I’ve had to date, very light and fruity. Good spot to also browse for some accessories and small household items (cute items but it is slightly overpriced). Did not try dining in - will be back for that! Service for ice ... cream was efficient - you order and when it is ready there is a takeout window outside where it will be given to you. Read more
