Abysmal service and terrible food! We went to Kangas Sauna for breakfast a couple weeks ago because I'd heard this place serves gluten-free Finnish pancakes. I had high hopes, but they were soon smashed to smithereens. On requesting the gluten-free Finnish pancakes, they said "No, we only do that on special occasions". Whaa?? ... How ridiculous. You either serve gluten-free Finnish pancakes (crepes) or you don't. I guess our occassion wasn't special enough.. So, we orderd from the menu.. My wife ordered poached eggs and they arrived completely overcooked (solid). Not soft or runny at all. Then my one son ordered eggs fried medium (he hates runny eggs) and they arrived completely runny. He was grossed out and didn't eat them. My other son and my daughter-in-law ordered the regular Finnish pancakes and they barely touched them. They were unimpressed. The server never checked on us and never even offered a coffee refill and, when asked, it took her well over 10 minutes to get back to us. The restaurant was virtually empty! My family said I should've cooked for them as I make fantastic gluten-free Finnish pancakes (even better than Hoito's non-GF pancakes) and I actually know how to cook eggs! LOL Sadly, we will never go back to Kangas Sauna. Makes me miss Hoito. Read more
