Cheer’s the Village Pub - Thunder Bay, Ontario

Saw this place pop up on Google and decided to give it a shot during our quick stay in the city. We had no issues finding a spot to sit on a Wednesday night. My partner ordered the pepperoni pizza and I ordered the smash burger. We were both blown ... away by the size of the pizza and burger that came out as both were fairly big portions (realistically we could’ve split the pizza between the two of us). While the burger was greasy, it was delicious and I couldn’t get enough of the garlic sauce. The heartbeat ketchup that came with the fries was a nice surprise and made me wish we could buy a bottle. The pizza was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet, it was even just as good cold the next day (we had lots of left overs)! Would love to come back and visit on a Friday for the live music. Good food, meh service. It wasn’t too busy, but the server was taking her time to come to my table and take the order. Not very pleasant type either.

Food and service has always been great. Super cozy atmosphere. Great bar, great food.

We went there for the 1st time last night. Kept saying we were going to for a long while and never had. What a great atmosphere, with friendly,happy people of all different ages and backgrounds. There was only 1 waitress and a bartender, who did her best to help out, and ... she was completely amazing. We waited a while for our food, gave us more time to talk, and enjoyed our drinks. Loved the place. This is such an underrated place like seriously. The food is amazing and the service is very on point. The chef is so nice and has pretty much magic in hands. Must try here- Detroit style pizza. Hands down the best in town for Detroit style pizza.
