Waited 35 mins for a burger, only for it to be wrong. Sent it back & it was still wrong. The charged me for extra toppings that I never asked for. It was cold, dry & not what I wanted but I was running out of time. Just wanted to ... pay and leave. Server is new but she never communicated with me & messed up the bill as well. Never returning. What can I say, waitress was focused on everything other then the 3 people in the restaurant. Ordered coffee never received it, she didn't realize to I went to cash out.. as for food I ordered their signature burger, lack of flavor, masked by the overwhelming blue cheese sauce, fries ... were ok could be seasoned and as for the gravy, lumpy and it too lack seasoning. Casual, busy and good. Small town diner with good homemade food. The onion soup is a nice surprise and the homemade hamburgers are very good.
Kakabeka has just a couple restaurants to visit. However, The Eddie is at the top of the food chain. If you’re passing through to go camping or just having a quick visit to see the waterfall. You should do yourself a favor and stop in for some excellent food and ... service. This food is legit. Real ingredients and everything is made from scratch. There is outdoor dining available as well as indoor. All the tables indoors have barriers for COVID protection. Great place to bring the family. My server was friendly and helpful. The food was tremendous. I was there for breakfast. I had a four egg Everything Omelet with home fries, dry rye and a side of sausage. I may have over done it a bit, but I finished every last bite without complaint. The next time I'm doing work out in the Kakabeka area, I'll be making The Eddie a priority for my lunch break.
