A visit to Stratford would be incomplete for us without dining at Rene's Bistro. This fantastic restaurant moved to a bigger space in 2020 and it's absolutely lovely! What hasn't changed is the inviting atmosphere, and the quality of the food and service is just as excellent as it's always ... been. Margaret greets us warmly each time, and all safety protocols are in place so that we can relax while enjoying our superbly prepared and presented meals. Excellent take out experience and excellent food! Everything tasted excellent (chicken curry and the salmon), and they also provided complimentary bread with dipping oil. The creme brulee was plated beautifully (even for take-out) with berries and a decorative sugar spiral, and they let us keep the ramekin. Would definitely return! ... We had a wonderful diner here during our “Covid getaway” from Toronto. I had the lobster Mac and cheese and my wife had the grilled salmon on polenta. Both were delicious. The food is delicious, the place is quaint and the service impeccable. We had the Chicken Liver Pate, BLT Caesar, Bistro Mussels and Baby Backs - all perfectly paired with a light lager on a scorching hot day. The Banana Ginger cake capped things off perfectly. Food was great, as a celiac the attentiveness of staff was excellent! I had the gluten free version of the seafood mac and cheese, and the creme brulee was fantastic!
