Today 28 may 2022. They have Alberta AAA brisket at %50. Around $9 per Kg. Update: Father's Day weekend they will have all you can eat meat for $25 - Medieval Festival.

Freson Stony Plain recently catered a special event for my family. They did all the cooking and we picked the food up hot and ready to put out for a buffet style meal. Went April 19 th to have a look around. Produce is fresh and a bit pricey which is fine but meat is super expensive here. Pork butt roast for the smoker was priced at $12.10/kg….was less than $7kg last year. Can’t afford to feed my family from this store. ... Items are over priced. I have to say more 2.5 star experience. My first trip to the store in stoney it's a treat for the eyes so well designed decorated . Some items are a good deal like the perogies, some are blantonly high the grass fed butter . The ready made meals ... had me drooling as I waited for my pre-ordered prepaid turkey dinner for 4 . With a side of stuffing . The young man was just opening up lunch service but he should have had help he wasnt a hop to it guy and it was painful to watch and wait ...So I am particular, I cook very well myself and do have higher standards but I understood I would have to fix a bit . The winner was the turkey and the amount was generous it was tasty moist . Only needed a little butter while warming . I should read better as I expected mashed potatoes but got baby roasted potatoes which were good but not turkey dinner right . I added garlic granules, garlic plus mix and oil when reheating. The tin to reheat was a bit flimsy and was punctured when I poked the other root veggies at recommended 30 mins my knife bounced off rock hard veg and juices leaked to oven and smoked sigh note to self use cookie sheet underneath it . The root veggie were pretty al dente even at 45 mins . As in took an hour plus the meat took 30 mins the baby potatoes about 40 so this is not a well timed dish. These needed oil butter and garlic as well . There was sour cream bacon bits and green onions for the baby potatoes so still weird for thanksgiving. I used the gravy . The gravy I don't believe had any meat juice in it . It need more doctoring to give it any flavor . Required worstershire sauce soy sauce salt garlic onion powder more chicken bullion . And it was about half as much as was needed . The cranberry sauce was so sweet and tart and so scrumptious on the turkey and the stuffing . I would love to know the brand on that one . The most disappointing was the side order of stuffing that I paid 10 more dollars for was basically croutons with sage in the middle I found small amount of what appeared to be celery and onion that looked like it had been sauted than added to dry croutons. Dry stuffing ain't nobody's grandma's stuffing and certainly no one's from northern alberta . I had to add an egg ,stick of celery and onion and a can of soup since I wasn't prepared to have to fix this I used cream of chicken rather the the usual cream of celery or mushroom. Worstershire sauce salt pepper and lots more sage . This was a touch too much liquid so it required stirring often to fluff and brown in oven,and reduce the moisture out but that's OK I had the hour with the root veggie cooking . All in all I would order turkey from them but the rest was extra effort required which is what I was trying to avoid . Do better . The check out lady was lovely and fast ! Read more
