The Host Country Restaurant - Stony Plain, Alberta

I use to love this place but it has went down hill fast.... it takes way to long to be seated even though there is no one there and they keep changing the ingredients in there dishes. (probably as a result of lack of business so they need to get ... cheaper ingredients) Example: Chicken burger use to have a delicious grilled chicken breast that complimented all the ingredients, now they serve a fried breaded chicken patty... same with there gravy it was smooth and perfectly seasoned several months ago now it is chunky and seems like it has been reheated. You know what? If you want a breakfast place, this place is alright. My hubby had the country platter - lots of food for a decent price. I had the fish and chips. They were good; not the best I've ever had but not the worst either. The servicer was ... friendly and quick with the coffee. The place was half full but we had a little wait for our food. The food here was AMAZING!!! Its absolutely wonderful to have East Indian cuisine in a small town. Bravo! My only "complaint" if its a complaint...I would have liked to see just a little less sauce and more "stuff".... This place will be our monthly treat!

Awesomeness!!! Will go back again and again. Fantastic homemade traditional Indian Cuisine. It's worth every penny spent.

Honestly, I thought I disliked East Indian food, but after trying the vindaloo here I'm a fan. Without a doubt my favourite meal in Stony Plain comes from this place. Friendly service, the owner almost always comes out to introduce himself. I'm telling you, give this place a shot.
