I had a fantastic meal at St. John's Fish Exchange! The lobster and shrimp pappardelle was delicious, with perfectly cooked pasta and fresh seafood in a creamy sauce. Overpriced and underwhelming. $35 for lobster mac & cheese with 3 chunks of lobster total. I am not exaggerating, you can see the 3 tiny pieces on the top of the pasta. There were no surprise hidden chunks buried in the middle. I guess it's $10 per chunk of meat and then ... $5 for the mac and cheese itself. Very disappointed. Also the washroom is outside of the restaurant itself and is stinky. Overall worst spot I visited on my trip to st johns. Read more

Wonderful experience for a Thursday evening meal at the bar. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, the bartender had multiple non alcoholic cocktail options (including some originals) and did a fantastic job. Amazing food and drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting st johns. There was a fairly large group of us so we were able to try different things. The mojitos are a must try! The lobster Mac n cheese is delicious but did not have alot of lobster ... in it. We also had the calamari, it wasnt a traditional calamari but it was delicious. I had the crab legs, they were so good. The only issue is for a seafood restaurant there were limited options for the lobster and crab without ordering an entire lobster or crab legs. Great service from host, server, other staff. Food tasty. I had two appetizers Tuna Tartare excellent and Charred Scallops also excellent. Two guests had the chowder and said it was okay but wouldn’t necessarily order it again. Two had the fish and chips also good but one said they’ll try ... the charred cod next time. Dressing was a little dry, could have used more butter. Another had the Caesar salad, excellent. And finally the seafood platter was really good and could serve two people if not too hungry. Pricing was reasonable incl tip 280$, 4 people with drinks, no desserts. Definitely going back again. Clean. Washrooms are roomy. Parking easy access to building. Read more
