Shamrock City Pub - St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

Did I ever have a great time here while visiting St John's! When I arrived it was mostly busy on the patio and quiet inside, but then just around the time I got my order it started to fill up and there was a fellow playing live music. The staff were ... very quite friendly and made the experience a turly delightful time. Their recommendation on the Newfie style Fish and Chips with stuffing and gravy is unbelievable! I was expecting to only witness a tiny flash if it's true evening glory with the stage, but when I saw that there was live music in the afternoon I was so happy to be there chowing down with the sounds of local tunes. While the food wasn't anything special, the service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was great even for a weekday afternoon!

This is a great local pub. Like any big town you can always find an Irish pub. This is as good as you will fine anywhere. I had the fish and chips with the Newfoundland favorite ... dressing and gravy. We had excellent live music by Larry Foley. I highly recommend this establishment. Read more

I went here for their Tuesday burger special and a couple of pints. I tried my first moose burger and it was very good and the fries were too. The beer was cold and the service was excellent. I went before any bands were playing so I will have to ... go back again when they're playing. Read more
