I attended Christian’s for a 7PM screech in with a group of friends, some of whom had had the experience before. The three of us getting screeched in were able to sign up online with no issues. It was crowded, which added to the experience. Chef Lukey took great care ... of ensuring the experience was memorable and fun. One patron was unable to maintain silence during the requested portions and was removed to preserve the experience for everyone else, a touch that is not taken enough these days. I would highly recommend, likely best to START a night on George street in this place, you’ll want to remember it! You’ll have a certificate after, so you may want to plan to keep that in good order or drop it off somewhere before you continue the night. Lukey was able to accommodate non alcoholic requests for the ceremony. If you go, be respectful of the request to not chatter during the ceremony, it’s worthwhile. Hands down the best Screech In on George Street. Been to at least 5 of Skipper Lukey’s shows now and they never get old. If you’re looking to get that golden Newfie Passport, this is the place to go!
We attended the Screeched In ceremony at 9pm on Sunday. The service was excellent - the staff here really add to the character of the place. Super friendly, great conversations, even the other patrons were chatty and lovely. The host, 'Skipper Lukey', is one of a kind. 100% recommend. This ... was certainly a highlight of our trip. Went there a week ago to get screeched in, also on my girlfriend's birthday and honestly cannot say enough great things about Christians pub. Skipper/Chef Lukey was amazing. The way he tells stories and remembers every bodies name speaks to how he cares about each and every one of his ... guests. And no to forget, Patty, Marshall and Brandon, the three bartenders that night. Amazing drink recommendations, great taste in music and super friendly people who gave my girlfriend and myself such a great experience. Since I am out of province it will be tough but I will for sure one get back to Christians Pub. Read more
