China King Chinese Cuisine - St. Catharines, Ontario

Ever since our move here we have been looking for a decent Chinese food restaurant. These folks have three throughout St. Catharines. My only gripe is when I ask for say, no green peppers and I'm assured there will be none but my takeout is loaded with them. It's the ... little things that count for customer service. Otherwise we continue to go there. Update: These folks are no longer in operation. Changed hands literally overnight. Not quite so Canadian Chinese food. Really tasty, fast and fresh Chinese food. Walked in for take out ordered and received our food under 15 minutes. We ordered the dinner for 6 to feed 5 people This was alot of food. More than enough food for 6 easily could feed 7 maybe more. I highly recommend ... it. We will definitely order from them again. I really liked beef with mushrooms. Read more

I never post negative reviews, but here we go: Service: 0 Stars - We picked up a large (9 dishes) order. Phone service was very good and payment was good. Picked up our big bag of food and headed home. 25 minutes away. On arrival we ... find there are NO CONDIMENTS! No Soya Sauce. No Schiarchi. No Plum Sauce. We have spring rolls and rice and other dishes needing sauces. Not in the bag. I call the store in frustration and the young woman tells me that they include those things in delivery orders but pick up orders need to take what they need from the counter on the side. WHAT??!!! Why would you not tell me that as I picked up this big order? You must have ;already had this complaint so many times and on my big order you forgot it, again? So frustrating. Had to ask neighbours if they had soya sauce, etc... Meal, fail. Food: Two Stars - Typical "Chinese" food flavours but mostly below average. Both the Lemon Chicken and the Sweet & Sour Chicken came with sauce containers that were too small so there was no sauce left for the second courses. Everything else was meh. Read more

A few of us ordered take out from here for lunch. Two orders of Lemon Chicken with no lemon sauce! When I called back they were apologetic and said they would send it out right away with a gift card - sounds good! Then a few minutes later they called ... back and said they were OUT of lemon sauce and I would get a great big discount next time I ordered from them... but why would I do that? They also didn't send any soy sauce or plum sauce packets for the egg rolls. Read more

So I'm a big foodie and I'd have to say the food here isn't all that bad. It's quite good actually but the staff and service here is horrendous. Especially the younger Asian lady who takes orders behind the counter. I've been here multiple times and she's always the same. ... Grouchy, snappy, impatient and rude to customers. When handing her money she snatches it out of your hand way to fast. They expect you to know what you order instantaneously, and when you try to ask for help or for clarification, its said way to fast to be understood. I would recommend this place but look at the menu first and know what you're going to order beforehand. Read more
