Sandbar - Shediac, New Brunswick

To summarize, very nice atmosphere with very average (at best) food. The location is amazing with an awesome patio that overlooks the water. The inside of the restaurant is also very nice and would be a good location to have drinks. The food on the other hand is ... an after thought. We had the mussels which had a cream sauce and was average. We also had the lobster roll and the scallops both of which were not very good. My kids had the chicken strips and fries that reminded me of frozen store bought food and not home made. We loved it. The ambience, the excellent wait staff, the food. We were a group of 9. The shrimp and the scallop starters were amazing. The seafood chowder had a pound of seafood in it, a meal in itself. Cocktails were lovely. And the view, ooh la la! Never get ... tired of looking at the water. All our meals were delicious, only suggestion is to add some spice to the fish in the fish and chips. We would definitely go back. Read more

Edit - Second visit, food was amazing second time around. And service was impeccable! I love the Sandbar, generally speaking, but not sure if it was the day or if it’s because it’s the start of the season. The veggie burger was very dry, and the fish and chips lacked seasoning. ... This is our first time in New Brunswick, and was not dissapointed! We enjoyed The Sandbar so much! The food is excellent! We went for just some drinks and appetizers, boy, we left so full and happy😄😄 The service is equally excellent, we didn’t wait too long. The crew are ... very friendly and made us feel at home. I went there to eat lightly while looking at the sea. The waitress was kind and the cocktail was sweet. I ordered nachos and fish and chips, and they were both delicious. I'll go again next time. I couldn't sit on the terrace because of the raining but I think ... that will be great when the weather is nice. Read more
