Cafe Mirage Grill & Lounge - Scarborough, Ontario

Used to go here often years ago. Was nice to go back recently! It's under different management now and the chicken/beef are halal! The food was good and presented well. The banana pancakes tasted nice and had bananas cooked into the pancakes as opposed to just placed on top which ... made them delicious. The chicken wrap needed a crunch and had way too much mashed potatoes in it than chicken but the bread was baked really well and the seafood soup was amazing. Our server was polite but unattentive. The place looked better before, it's a bit messy now - the entrance has a shovel/cleaning equipment lying around; random flyers of local businesses in the front; waitresses coats just sitting behind the counter as opposed to being hung in a closet; boxes of drinks lying on the ground - simple things that could be put away from customers' view to make it a better restaurant. Came here for the first time, and was immediately impressed by the variety of the menu considering I was expecting it to be just a breakfast restaurant. The staff was super friendly and on point with the little things like refilling coffee among other things. The best part for me ... however was the quality of the food. Even the side salad of my order was delicious. I was so impressed that I ended up ordering a slice of the Chocolate Eruption cake and I don't usually order dessert after a heavy breakfast, but I had to do it in this case. I go to cafe mirage every year to celebrate togetherness with family. This time we ordered Chocoberry delight with waffles.It had good scoops of chocolate and strawberry ice cream with slices of strawberries and drizzled with yummy chocolate sauce. The fresh waffles tasted delicious along with the ice creams. I ... can definitely say their ice cream quality is far superior than other dessert cafes. Our experience was a wow! They used to have LOTS of items on the menu. This place was much better before, a couple of years ago. However, their cakes and coffees are still top notch. The customer service is amazin as well. I've never had a bad time there but I miss the old Cafe Mirage. ... It looked like it had more space and a great atmosphere. Read more

Very nice experience going in with my colleagues. Had waffles with Nutella , sliced banana and vanilla ice cream. Huge quantity. Definitely worth the price. Friendly staff and good ambience. Would definitely go back again.
