Smilin’ Jacks Bar & Grill - Scarborough, Ontario

I am having a bit of hard time describing my experience. We went with bunch of friends for a few drinks and game of pool. Food - 4/10 - it was awful, small portions not at all fresh. We ordered Nachos, garlic bread, chicken wings. Drinks - 6/10 Average drinks, no drinks ... menu was available to order from. So I just asked what did they suggest. A lots of ice, almost negligible alcohol, nothing special. The guys order beer, it was cheap so that was the good part Service - 7/10 Server seemed nice, but lacked attentivenes, we had to keep looking for some one everytime for a while whenever we wanted to order. Pool - 9/10, we had fun, it’s $1.50 per game. You need coins. The server was nice enough to give us coins as we didnt carry any. Went there on a Friday night a couple weeks ago with a couple of friends the atmosphere was okay food was horrible Boxed chicken wings, boxed chicken fingers disgusting and dry, mozzarella sticks were garbage box again and we ordered some nachos and they were horrible they put a can of ... Stagg chili on it and a bit of tomatoes, lettuce, called it nachos food is disgusting and the menu is very tiny you take they make some homemade stuff to bring the people in don't recommend their food at all take your own food we got three trays the chicken wings mozzarella sticks and spring rolls and an order of nachos came to a hundred bucks with taxes and tip for garbage don't waste your money there. The owner of the bar was sitting by himself watching everybody and what he should have been doing was making sure the cook it's making proper food I will never go there again and neither will my friends we'll find somewhere else close to home. So good to be back. Cold drinks and delicious food. Not to mention live music. Great to get out again and see friends. Feels like the first day of school. Staff is friendly and attentive. Located close to bus stop and just south of the highway. No reason not to pop ... in. Read more

From out of town and needed a place to eat. Google pointed us there as it was close to where we were staying. We went around 5-6pm with 4 adults and 2 children as the sign said bar and grill meaning food so we decided to give it a chance ... well big mistake. Got there and there was a table full of drunk people cursing and swearing saying they did not care about children. Remember it is supper time not bar time and when she kept speaking loudly about kids I said to her that the sign says bar and grill so we thought that there was good food here she continued to come over to our table and speaking loudly cursing and everything about how she works there and blah blah blah. If that's how you act at a place where you work it is very inappropriate. As we were about to order the steak the waitress told us not to order it as it is no good. So we decided to pay for our drinks and just leave to find a better place for our family. As we were leaving the drunk "employee" was cleaning up a table. I would hate to think she was "working" while that intoxicated. Terrible customer service!! Our waitress was very good no complaints against her! Read more

Starters are good. They have bulky chicken wings and need some improvement in customer service.
