First time here and can't believe I've never heard of this great fish n chips joint until now! Sometimes some gems just appear out of nowhere and this was definitely one of them! My favourite of the few things I ate was the Onion Rings. They were the biggest, juiciest and ... tastiest rings I've ever had! Not sure what the secret ingredient in the batter is but wowee was it ever flavourful! The 2pc Cod & Chips dinner was great. Huge pieces of fish and not too oily or heavy on the breading. I'd salt the fries though. The homemade tartar sauce was great too. You might want an extra with this meal. Read more
They serve generous portions of chips, easily sufficient for three people with a small size. I wish the chips were a bit more crispier though. The coleslaw was delicious, and the halibut was exceptional. Although I'm not usually a fan of salmon, it was surprisingly good. With its reasonable prices ... and ample servings, it's definitely a great place to visit! Read more
Definitely big on deep fried! Absolutely great for those needing that fish and chips fix. Highlights: Quick service Seniors (DINE IN only) special Portion size Batter not overly thick for the fish Things to consider: Parking might get busy Operating hours Smaller dining area Been ordering take-out from Naughty Nellie's for the past 2 years now. Just this last visit ... dined-in. Great for take out, I always enjoy the fish and chips wrapped in lining and newspaper. They do have separate menu for take out and dine in, so it's best to call if you have questions. They do have a website with menu items. Take out is always great, the fish is decently sized, with a good amount of fries to share. Same fare with the tartar sauce and coleslaw. Plenty to go around, great, easy, simple. Tried the calamari; it was tender, not gummy at all. I got the one-piece cod and chips, which was I thought was a fair price for the size of the size of the fish. For the fries, it was really crispy at dine-in, but of course, it might get slightly softer for those that take out. It doesn't bother me, but for those that like super crispy, just please note. The dine in experience was good, except space is limited, so you might have to wait for a seat- although service is pretty quick, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. They do take reservations, but only for groups of over 6 people. Also, just double-check their hours before ordering, as they do close for a little bit in the afternoon. Read more
It was our first time ordering fish 'n chips from Naughty Nellie's and what a delightful experience it was! The whole family, kids included, beamed about the onion rings. My daughter claimer they were the best onion rings she'd ever had. They were real good. The ... fish was delicious - done just right with good flavour. The coleslaw was lovely. If there was any slightly negative feelings it was towards the fries - they could have used a little more crisping. That said, the portions were generous so there were fries left over for lunch the next day. I fried them up and honestly, they were better the second day. The fries were awesome after a second frying! We loved our food from Naughty Nellie's and if we're in the neighborhood and have a hankering for fish 'n chips, we'll certainly be stopping by. Not a fancy joint but the food was fresh. The batter of the fish and chips were not thick. Just enough for the crispy crunch.
