I’ll admit that the interior is pretty ……simple? date? old style? But hey! For the price, don’t expect a fancy decor! To be honest, the menu is a bit difficult to read and I don't want to be a fussy customer and ask for paper menu (I did see a few ... on the counter). This place can definitely charge a bit more, and get more customers, if they revamp their interior and menu, plus marketing. The oil isn't the best condition, it' acceptable, but again, it is not charging u a premium. I ordered cod & chips for $10.75 (after tax $12.15). It's a big piece of fish, taste ok, not too much batter, and order to cook. It's still very hot when I got home. I believe the owner speaks Cantonese. Great, amazing light battered fish & chips! Good value and such nice owners. Definitely will make this a regular rotation of our dinner spots in Richmond Hill. We wanted to try a bit of everything and we ordered the House Plate that included Halibut, shrimp, scallop, onion rings, chips & ... salad + haddock & chips. I have been meaning to try this place for a long time and finally got a chance to do so. Luckily I ran into Amy who was helpful and helped me order. I ordered the Habilbut for 5 family meal. Very nice, cozy atmosphere, not fancy gourmet style, but the food more than makes up for it. We had the halibut and fresh cut fries and sweet potato fries. It was excellent. Fish was very tasty. Fries was hot and delicious. Tarter sauce was creamy and went well with ... the fish. Lots of free convenient parking. Would highly recommend Amy's fish and chips and would definitely be back. Nice mom & pop business, 2 owners/staff we're friendly and accommodating. Large parking lot so no worries on finding parking Ordered 2 lunch specials (cod or haddock), fries & pop $9.95. Great deal as fries were plentiful, crispy and one large fish portion. A slight wait as fish/fries are cooked ... to order. Fish has a nice light tempura like batter which compliments the fish. Fries were hand cut and not the frozen variety As usually, why is it only a small portion of tartar sauce given verses the amount of fish, must be a conspiracy amongst all the fish & chip restaurants to limit the amount of tartar sauce given to customers.
