Fresh, crispy and hot bungeoppang (or taiyaki) filled with creamy custard is the perfect snack to go! Surprisingly, the custard isn't too sweet so it is so balanced in flavor. Although it may seem pricey, it always makes me come back for more. Note that you have to bring cash ... though. Read more

Hidden taiyaki shop on bloor! It’s a super small store located in an asian grocery store, and they sell custard and red bean taiyaki. Both flavours were good but the custard was my favourite.

I must admit that another reason why I love going to Pat Central is I know I can enjoy the deliciousness of a Taiyaki after I finish my grocery shopping. Kevin's Taiyaki is located inside the grocery and is definitely not hard to miss especially with the delicious aroma lingering in ... the air. They make the best golden fish-shaped cake - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and filled with sweet filling of your choice which in my case and my favourite - the sweet red bean paste. One bite into this fish shaped pastry ensures you get a buttery crust and tender mochi-like chew on the inside with the rich sweetness filling spreading into your mouth. Taiyaki is best consumed as the street food it is - eaten while still piping hot from the pan. I tried bringing it home once and it's not as good as when you eat it fresh. Read more
