Spirits Bar & Lounge – Sheraton Parkway Hotel - Richmond Hill, Ontario

I had a terrible experience at this Hotel. Front office and management personnel will promise things but never perform. I was moved to this hotel because the room I stayed in their adjacent Best Western was infested with bed bugs. They don't seem to have the knowledge ... or procedure to handle such matters. The Front Office Manager Mitchell Morillo looked at my bites and said: "I've had bedbug bites and these are not bedbug bites". I attach pictures. I wanted to move to another hotel, but she persuaded me to move to Sheraton. Through googling, I became aware that my luggage and clothing might carry the bedbugs to the new room so I inquired if I could get my stuff dry cleaned. The front desk staff cheerfully agreed and said she'll have the essential clothing ready for me in the morning so I can go out. What do you know, nothing was ready. I called several times and had to come downstairs in my robe a couple of times to inquire when it was already noon. Finally, I said, I'm not leaving the front desk unless I see my clothes. Another assistant manager (?), Kashif reassured me that the clothing will come back "in half an hour". Half an hour passed, nothing. Again Kashif told me that they are ready to be picked up. So I had to wear the robe to the tournament venue, have the dry-cleaned clothes brought there directly and changed, almost missing my match start. Subsequently, Mitchell agreed to comp my meal because I couldn't go out, as well as half of my stay, but when I finally got my invoice, as it was not available when I checked out, only 2 of 9 nights were comped, but there was also a charge for “misc.” essentially taking away the comped meal. My recent stay at the Sheraton by Marriott left much to be desired, particularly regarding the cleanliness and overall condition of the room. Upon arrival, the front desk staff that checked me in seemed unhappy and disengaged, which did not make for a welcoming experience. Once getting into the room, I found ... the pillows to have hair, stains, and marks, suggesting they hadn’t been changed. The fitted sheet appeared similarly unchanged, exhibiting significant wrinkles. Additionally, I discovered a fake nail on the floor in front of the sofa/sofa bed, which further indicated a lack of thorough cleaning and vacuuming under the sofa. The room’s surfaces were also disappointing. The mirror and shower glass had noticeable water marks, indicating they hadn’t been properly wiped, if at all. The mirror above the desk in the living room was particularly concerning, as it was so covered in dust and debris that it was no longer clear. The condition of the carpet in the bedroom was another issue; it felt oily to the touch, reinforcing the importance of not walking barefoot in the room. Beyond cleanliness, the premium room I booked felt outdated and more akin to a motel than the high standards one expects from a Sheraton. For the same price, or even less, I recommend staying at the newly renovated Delta Hotels by Marriott on the other side of Highway 404, which offers a far superior experience based on my stays there. In summary, the Sheraton did not meet my expectations in terms of cleanliness or overall quality, and I would suggest considering alternative accommodations in the area. Read more

Very helpful staff. Clean, updated rooms. Convenient location for exploring Markham, Richmond Hill, and also downtown (close to Hwy 404). Lots of amenities (3 pools, racquet club), even though it takes a bit of walking to get to all of them. This hotel is fabulous. We had the penthouse suite for the night. It was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the 9th-floor club room which had many things to eat all completely complimentary. Overall great location for shopping and events in Richmond Hill.

Motel quality at Sheraton prices. Room absolutely reeked of cigarettes… not mildly, but “Daddy this smell doesn’t make me feel good”. I’m surprised this room was turned over and given to a guest. Smell aside, room was barely even vacuumed. The used q-tip was a nice find but we brought our own ... so not a huge win. Great looking hotel, unacceptable room quality. Read more
