I am being generous with the review, as I just want to think that the guy who served me was just having a bad day. Asked for a cappuccino and a pastry on a late Sunday morning. He overfilled the cup and spilled it on the plate. When I wanted ... to clean it up, I realized that there weren't napkins:I asked for them and he came back with a paper roll that we would use more in a mechanic garage rather than in a kitchen. We live in the neighbourhood and we've been there 4-5 times just to be disappointed every time. The bread, the baked goods, the specialty cakes, EVERYTHING is mediocre at best but the prices are those of a high-end bakery. Even what-a-bagel is way better and it's just a simple bakery ... at half the price. Read more

I've been coming here every week for years. The bread here is hands down the best I've had in the GTA. There are tables to drink your cappuccino (not Starbucks style - I'm talking real cappuccino) and eavesdrop on the older Italian gentlemen who meet here. The owner is a ... little gruff but is a real sweetheart. He greets me every week and gives me free samples when there are new products to try out. Coming to the Old Bread Mill has become one of the highlights of my week, and a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Read more

Terrible experience today at this bakery. Customer was not satisfied with a product and shouting match ensued. Owner is not a customer service oriented person. His staff is rude and inexperienced. This place used to be so busy. I hadn't been there in a couple of years. Today's experience is ... my final experience there. The place was extremely slow for a Sunday just goes to show how a persons attitude towards customers can destroy a business. I've been going there 5 years and made eye contact with the owners never have they made an effort to even gesture hello. Old Mill bread bakery is simply the best Italian bakery in York region. The food is always perfect. The service is second to none. Especially the two girls that work at the front cash they always have a smile on their face and always make you feel great. All my ... friends and family rave about this place.
