I ordered the Beef Tendon Lo-Mein 牛筋撈. Tasted very good, with thick 鹵水汁 sauce, surprisingly better than most Hong Kong's fast food restaurant. Although the akaline 鹼水 taste is considered mild compared to authentic Beef Tender Lo-mein, it really depends on personal preferences. At least, you dont have to pour ... vinegar to neutralize the alkaline taste. The only complaints I have are: 1) Thick tendons are quite chewy. My mother makes softer, much more tender beef tendons by stewing them for just a few hours without using chemical meat tenderizers. She only buys large, thick tendons, and yet they always melt in our mouths. Obviously, Kam Ho did not spend enough time stewing them. Nonetheless, the taste was great; it didn't taste of baking soda or any known meat tenderizer powder. 2) The portion is very small. It may not be enough to fill the stomach of an average eater like myself. Although the $13 cost is still considered fair compared to the $19 or $20 a plate at most Hong Kong-style fast food cafe restaurants in GVA. I wanted to go for seconds, but that leads to the 3rd complaint... 3) the lineup is horrendous. Long line formed at all times, even at 1pm on a Friday afternoon when we were there. I can't imagine what weekends would be like. . Read more
