Tea Monarch - Richmond, British Columbia

I recently visited this tea lounge. Love the location and ambiance. The place feels comfy and nice. The owner should have more variety and food items.

The bubble tea I had was a huge disappointment, as it consisted mainly of ice and excessive sugar, with just two strawberries. Surprisingly, it took a long time to prepare despite the presence of only one more customer. To make matters worse, they served it in a flimsy paper cup ... that quickly became wet and soggy. Additionally, they had run out of pearls, a crucial element in any good bubble tea. The overall experience was frustrating, leaving me with a negative impression of their customer service. I hope they address these issues and improve their offerings to provide a better experience for their customers in the future. Read more

It’s a very nice place with a lot of spaced out seating (didn’t want to take pics of the people sitting). The BBT was okay. Whenever I try a new place I get green milk tea to evaluate the quality. It was good but lacked tea taste. 50% sugar was ... still a little sweet and the size was smaller than I am accustomed to with no option for bigger, though the $5.20 cost after tax is probably close to market price. I can appreciate the smaller size too as I don’t always want a full size and it’s nice that it costs less. The server struggled to communicate in English. But all in all it’s good enough to come back to as I’m in the area often. Read more

I have never given a one star review but this cafe was so disappointing. We were in our way to another cafe but saw the pretty design and thought we would give it a try… bad decision. I think their menu items are overpriced for the quality, we waited around 30 ... minutes for a really bad carbinini sandwich and we asked for a half sugar drink but they didn’t put any sugar in it. Normally I wouldn’t complain but it was a quiet time and the server just completely forgot our order and we had to ask where our food was. Walked out and tossed out both items. Very disappointing, wish it could live up to its pretty interior designs. Read more

Large space but not many seating to sit, very small choices of coffee, mostly tea. Tea are creative comes with hot and cold. The stuff are friendly and assertive. Can be paid with cards or cash. Mostly Chinese tea so half of the menu are sweet. Wifi available, I think ... it would be better with more starting since they do have enough space. Read more
