Very bad customer service and making up their own rules on the promotion that's going on. When I was paying, the clerk try to charge me full price when there was a 25% off promotion that's going on. I asked the clerk about the promotion and then she applied the ... discount. I wasn't happy at that point already and then when I tried to pay with a David's tea gift card, she told me if I pay with gift card, I can't get the promotion. I was furious at that point because what kind of the rule is that? So if I pay by gift card I can only get full price items? I asked her to make sure and she answered by with a very sure way that yes, I can't get the promotion if I pay by gift card. There was no manager around and the other employee there was even more inexperienced because she didn't even know where things were around. I was really upset and I left without making a purchase. I tried to call David's tea to double check their store policy and of course you could call them before 5pm ET. It was 2:30pm PT and I can't get any customer service. Then I called the other David's tea in Richmond and asked can I pay by gift card and get 25% off and they answered of course I can. So I went to that store and was able to make a purchase, however they make up a rule on the promotion as well, I wasn't able to get the 25% off on an item that I can get 25% off if I purchase online or at Richmond Center. I was very unhappy with how the handle the promotion inconsistently and I felt like I wasted too much time with David's tea and I just want to spend my gift card and not shop there anymore. I would think a chain like David's tea would have better employee training and standardized training so that you don't get too much variety customer service experience from store to store but I guess not. I think David's tea customer service just get worst and worst and their prices get more and more expensive over the year because they think they are the only quality tea chain. I would shop my tea elsewhere now. Read more
