This is one of our family's favorite place to go for brunch. The combos are a good deal with soy milk included. Food is freshly prepared and warm. Service is quick and friendly. The highlight of my visit was the freshly made soy milk. Served fresh and hot, it was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced— not too sweet and just the right consistency. The chinese donut stuffed pancakes and rice roll were delicious. My children really enjoyed their red bean and sesame pastry. We ... had to go back for seconds, they couldn't get enough of their food. Despite being busy and having a line up, the staff were so friendly and efficient. Inconsistent food quality. Once tried in the early morning, the 粢飯 was exceptionally good. It was soft and chewy with crunchy and fresh 油炸鬼. It did surprise me with dry and hard 粢飯 when I visited them again, may be it was in the late lunch and close to their ... closing time. Was hoping I'd be able to taste the bean in the soymilk but I couldn't find it. And the burnt taste was more overpowering. The dough fritter and pancake was flakyand light. With all the negative reviews on about this place. Let me share my experience. I arrived at 8 am when they were just opened. The uncle at the counter was not rude, he is a man with few words and get straight to the point. I ordered combo 4 with an ... added pork pastry. The food was delicious and is almost comparable to the ones I had while I was in Taipei. (See my review of Yong He in Taipei) While I did taste a slight hint of burnt after taste with the soy. It was still acceptable to me. I also ordered some take out and because there is no plastic bag offered in Richmond, the uncle put my food in a paper bag at no extra cost. Read more
