If you live in Vancouver, you must have heard of No.9 Restaurant, which is a famous and iconic Hong Kong cafe opening 24/7 in Richmond. We arrived Vancouver at 3am and drove straight to No.9 to satisfy our late night HK food cravings. Their menu is a thick chunky booklet and I ... was impressed by the insane variety of food they serve. No wonder it has been a neighborhood favorite for over two decades. I don’t really eat at late night, so I only had half of the sandwich and a few sips of the milk tea. The corned beef egg sandwich (鹹牛肉蛋治) is the best I’ve had in North America, comparable to those in Hong Kong. The bread was lightly toasted, and the scrambled egg was so fluffy and loaded with corned beef. HK style milk tea (港式奶茶) was rich and creamy. It came with a big glass so it justified the price. I was also craving for something hot and homey at midnight. I got the ginger steamed milk (薑汁燉雙皮奶), hoping it could recall the taste of my favorite cha chan tang (Australian Dairy Company) in HK. The texture was apparently not super silky and smooth, but good enough to cure my homesick. Read more
No.9 Restaurant is a 24/7 great place to enjoy Chinese cuisine especially in late evening. Lunch and late afternoon are busy time, waiting to be seated. The amazing food is served fast. We had yang chow fried rice, green beans with minced pork in chili sauce, sweet & ... sour pork, soy beef rice noodle, lemon chicken with a yummy lemon dip. The lemon chicken and chicken fried noodles are winners. The price is worth the food quality and big portions. Service is efficient. This is our go-to place especially late at night. We always enjoyed the food and will recommend this place. Read more
The employees do not greet customers as soon as they enter, but immediately ask, “Cash only, okay?” The foods are delicious, but the environment doesn't seem clean, and there's even a bathroom next to the kitchen with no door and a view of the toilet. And when I tried to ... use the bathroom, I was shocked. There were shoe prints that were clearly visible on the toilet seat! I couldn't help but be surprised. The advantage of being open 24 hours is good, but it would be nice to keep the environment a little cleaner. Read more
We had beef brisket noodles and oyster congee. Taste was good especially it was in the middle of the night! However we originally wanted to order a shanghai noodle with pork chop but staff said it would take 15 mins to cook….
We went to the restaurant around 10:40pm. Restaurant was filled with people, so lively. It’s a casual chinese restaurant with chinese dishes. The bbq pork (cha siu) was really sweet and did not taste that good, even the soy sauce that came with cha siu was way too sweet. The ... singaporean noodles were really good and tasted exactly how they should. The taste and the quantity were both there for the noodles. The customer service was not good, the lady was dismissive. Prices weee decent as well. Also, I don’t know if it’s a daily thing or just that day, they didn’t take any card payments, only cash.
