Check out TOP-10 Best Asian restaurants in Richmond, British ColumbiaReviews for Little Ongpin in Richmond, British Columbia
Tried their sinigang na bangus and crispy pata and both were very good and very tasty. Their are so many items on their menu and was overwhelm on what to order. We got to ask them their house specialty on our next visit. Portion was very large which is reflected ... on the price per order which is on the high side so it is best to share with a company to get the best value for your money. The lady server was very friendly and welcoming. Read more
This was my first time to this small Filipino restaurant in Richmond. There’s a good-size parking lot there as it’s in a strip mall. It’s a very basic eating place in terms of decor and atmosphere. And the server expected us to know what we wanted to order even before ... we sat down, literally! They must get a lot of regulars who do know. After we arrived at 6, many others streamed in…it’s a popular restaurant for the Filipino community, so the food is authentic. The servings are on the small side compared to one other such restaurant I ate at, but the food was very good. My eating companions say that they prefer this restaurant. My fav was the sinigang or tamarind and miso soup (with milk fish) and the bagoon rice. Read more
We got the sinigang bangus belly (comes with 6pcs big portions), adobo pusit, crispy pata and pork sisig. Everything was good except for the sisig..very disappointed not your typical soft sisig. This one is all deep fried til crispy and some belly skin turned chewy. Hard to eat and a little ... to the salty side Read more
Place is a little far fr my place, but when you crave for Filipino food you will try this restaurant once in a while. Ordered lexhon kawali on rice, it comes with a side of chop suey. It was good, crispy and the side of chop suey complimented it. ... Also ordered Caldereta, it was a big portion but the sauce was not creamy enough like Pampanggas Cuisine ( my favourite fr PC). Also ordered Pansit Palabok, it was good and have enough sauce. Will try other dishes next time. Service Was very good. Read more
Little Ongpin is a favourite restaurant find. When we crave for Filipino-Chinese food, we come here almost every time. The restaurant is conveniently located near bus stops and you can find parking spaces as well. They are closed on Mondays - we found this the hard way. The restaurant is clean and ... well maintained. The old menu on the wall is nostalgic but the interior reminds you of how restaurants in the Philippines are laid out. Simple, functional and intended for shared meals with family and or friends. They do hand out an updated menu for your review. The food menu is fantastic. We have not had a dish that we consider a not so good meal. Some of our favourite dishes are: chicken Arrozcaldo, Prawns in Chili Sauce, Prawns with snow peas and quail eggs, sweet and sour fish, chicken skewers, and the rice topping with fish and black bean sauce. The garlic rice is a must as it goes with any dish you order. The desserts are also delicious - order the Halo-halo and the leche plan. We like them as they are not too sweet and refreshing. The services is polite, efficient, and friendly. They keep the tables clean and serve with smiles. The waiting times are not too bad about 15-20 minutes. We are happy that they have partnered with Door Dash for delivery. Price-wise, the food menu is affordable and worth every penny. We plan on trying all the menu items every time we visit. This restaurant takes me back to home cooked meals like how my mom would make meals. Read more
