Food is tasty, I ordered the tomato soup base, basa fish and meat combo, and very tasty and lots of food. Love the cozy vibe, 1 hot pot portion, can be dou le or single seat, quick service.

Only two 4-person tables, and you need at least a party of three to sit there. Couples or singles are required to sit at the bar tables, and the seats are very unforgiving and extremely uncomfortable. The primary reason for not returning is the bar chairs. No matter how delicious ... their food may be, no suffering is worth it. The secondary reason for not returning is knowing there are cheaper hot pot restaurants nearby that pretty much offer the same food and quality of food. Happy Lamb Hot Pot at Lansdowne Centre is a good example. Their $19.99 lamb hot pot has pretty much the same quality and quantity, if not better or more. My $39 10-ounce "AAA Prime Rib Slice Combo" was pretty good, but the price doesn't quite justify its quality and quantity. Good quality but not outstanding. It should be worth no more than $29. My wife's $32, 10-ounce "Lamb Shoulder Slice Combo" is nothing special. We would rather opt for Happy Lamb's $19.99 lamb set plus an additional tray of lamb slices for $12 more. I am sure we would find it more enjoyable with the additional tray considering both Gokudo and Happy Lamb's quality and food offerings are quite comparable. The broth is too bland. You basically have to depend on the sauce they provide to add flavor to the food. Happy Lamb's broth is out of this world in comparison. Happy Lamb has a whole slew of condiments to choose from. Gokudu has whatever they give you; take it or leave it. If you want fresh chili, you have to ask. One thing Gokudo trumps Happy Lamb over is the service. Gokudo's waitress is always around and constantly checks if you need any replenishments. Happy Lamb's staff are never around when you need them. 😅 Read more

I heard about this place from my coworkers many times so I’m glad I finally got to try it! Service was super friendly (thank you Yvonne!) and she even recognized my friend. Hot pot was really good and I’m impressed by the variety and quality of ingredients. As always I ... think these places are always a bit overpriced but it’s a treat to go dine out anyways these days. This is the first time I try the hot pot style combo beside the all you can eat, they have a fixed portion of the combo which includes a soup base, a meat platter and a veggie platter, a side, a drink and a dessert. They have a great variety ... of combo to choose from, meat or seafood or veggies. The soup base of Tom Yum is perfect for me, spicy with a hint of sour, taste very good. The size of the portion is good enough, I can’t even finish it and need to pack away. Even the service is very nice, polite and hard working, they also have a loyalty program, spend $25 to get a stamp, with 10 stamps you get $20 off. An individual hot pot place where you can choose your own pot. The combo option is great because it includes a carb (recommend the dollar upgrade to pork on rice), veggie basket with fish balls and shrimp, a main protein, a drink, and even dessert so it’s a pretty complete ... meal and portions are large so you’ll definitely be full. Tried the salmon fish head with cilantro and preserved egg soup and it was very filling and good. The salmon is frozen so it takes longer to cook but it still tasted alright. Also had the lamb shoulder combo with curry soup and it was good but the lamb was on the tougher instead of tender side of things. The chairs would be better if they had back support as they are stools which aren’t the most comfortable. Service was good. Read more
