Copa Cafe - Richmond, British Columbia

I miss this HK style Cafe! My wife and used to go to Alleluia Cafe, but it closed down few years back. Copa Cafe is spacious, clean (including washroom), and comfortable. I like my sweetened iced lemon tea 😋. We ordered 2 things for about $45 ... plus tax and tip, it fed me, my wife, and my 16 yr old daughter during our break from 17U girls Provincials volleyball tournament at the Richmond Oval. Came back the next day and brought more friends (group of 12) and everyone enjoyed their meals. The kids meals were a good size, the teenagers could not finish it. Hands down my favorite spot! I've been a loyal customer since their Richmond opening in 2012. Many of the staff have been there since day one, delivering consistently friendly and courteous service. The food is fantastic, especially the value-packed mini menu before 6 pm, priced around $20 and includes a ... hot drink (cold drinks available for a small fee). My kids adore their breakfast options before 11 am – generous portions at a reasonable price often leave us with leftovers to take home. The $15 annual membership is well worth it, offering a 10% discount and occasional freebies like cold drink upgrades or French toast. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and modern, with comfortable seating. While parking is $2.5 per hour, the restaurant reimburses customers. Plus, the location is perfect for a post-meal stroll at T&T. With inflation on the rise, I find better value and quality here compared to fast-food giants like McDonald's. Highly recommended! Food is okay! The beef steak is the Chinese style with the baking soda marinated ahead of the time… it is totally different than the traditional beef steak. But the price is cheap compared to others… only $29 with a soup, a bun, a free coffee or HK ... style milk tea, it is a very good deal. And with free refill with a VIP card. Great food, great prices, great service! I don't know what there is to dislike about it! Fast and friendly service, HK style if you know what I mean! They just do their job and do it right. Maybe they don't go the extra mile like other hospitable places, but that's ok to ... me since I just want to order my food, enjoy my food and get out. I got the Japanese Tonkatsu Combo, with Szechuan Spicy Soup, Instant noodles, with Wonton and ChuHou Beef Brisket. It was spicy but not too spicy, flavorful with that Szechuan Zing, and prepared with care as I would expect! Really enjoyed it in this nice restaurant. The beef brisket was tender and flavorful, doesn't get much better, they used a good cut off beef and gave adequate amounts. Washed it all down with a cold Almond Milk. We also had the Baked Portuguese Rice with a Chicken steak, it was delicious as well! We dipped some of the beef brisket on the Portuguese sauce and it was melt in your mouth! Keep up the great work! I had a wonderful dining experience at Copa Cafe in Richmond. I ordered the B+B combo, which included a delicious pork steak with black pepper sauce, double sausages, vegetables, and rice on a skillet. The meal also came with a side of Russian Borscht soup, which was flavorful and comforting. ... To complete the meal, I enjoyed a hot Hong Kong style milk tea, which was the perfect balance of sweetness and richness.
