The Willow on Wascana - Regina, Saskatchewan

Went for a nice walk around Wascana lake and had to stop in for a Ceasar on the Bar Willow deck. Nice atmosphere didn't stay for food.

This restaurant is amazing! The patio is gorgeous looking over the water and the atmosphere feels so cozy and welcoming. We had the scallops, lake fries, pork belly, and the mussels. We had a great experience here for a quick pop in with a couple babies on the patio that started out a bit wild due to the babies and the weather taking a turn for the worst, but the waitress was extremely nice and hospitable, which made our visit quite ... enjoyable. Amazing place to eat and just enjoy the view! Beautiful view at the lake, food is delicious - burgers were amazing. Total price was not high. And also live music! The place definitely worth visiting, especially at the evening.

I don’t think I’ll be coming back here. The atmosphere and service were not great. It took a long time for the waitress to take our drink orders, then our food order. We had to ask for refills on water which shouldn’t happen when you’re paying $30-$40 for an entree. The ... atmosphere was lacking as well. Not too bad in the dining room, but there were wobbly tables and Christmas lights hanging which made it feel cheap. The bathroom was the worst, as half the lights were burnt out, a toilet paper holder was broken and hanging and all they had for paper towel was a roll sitting on the counter. The food was the best part, although still nothing spectacular. Some of the dishes were a bit bland and could have used more seasoning. We ordered a medium rare steak and it was closer to well done. The burger was also overcooked. I was excited for the gingerbread tiramisu, but it was very one note. It just tasted like gingerbread and lacked sugar. The texture was also doughy. The overall experience wasn’t terrible, it’s just not worth the prices they are charging. Read more
