I had contacted Chef Lucia to cater my wedding, My Fiancé and I booked a tasting for some steak with chmichurri and roasted veggies/potatoes. For context Im no chef, but I know how to make a good steak. I had mentioned that I thought it was a little bland (honestly ... trying my best to be polite), I thought it needed more seasoning in general. I was quite surprised that the response I was given was that it was seasoned perfectly in what I felt like was a pretty condescending tone. After we left my Fiancé was quite upset with our interaction and we later decided to cancel our contract. When I called to cancel I told her we felt it was best to go with a different caterer. I am even more surprised this time to hear a scoff/laugh and told that " I think its best too, I don't like your attitude, Ill refund you" then I was hung up on. Which left my Fiancé very upset. We did get our money back which we appreciated. I would suggest offering to pay 40$/50$ to taste the food and putting that towards initial 30% if you decide to get her to cater. We were lucky that we didn't need that money back instantly. I believe it took 1.5 weeks? I tried my best to be honest and not over exaggerate my experience. Read more
