I recently visited Perkins for brunch with my family, and unfortunately, our experience left us disappointed. While the restaurant had some redeeming qualities, several key aspects were lacking. My wife and I both ordered the Double-Bacon Benny. My wife had to send her entire plate back because her food was so ... cold. My hashbrowns were hard they were so cold, the hollandaise sauce was chalky, and the English muffins were soggy from sitting so long. On the flip side, the grandparents' Build-A-Breakfast was mostly fine, except for another instance of cold hashbrowns. My daughter enjoyed her rainbow pancakes, which were a hit. The service staff were courteous and responsive; they promptly remade my wife's meal when we raised our concerns. The restaurant itself was clean and had a pleasant bustling atmosphere. At $20 per plate, the quality of the food did not match the price. Given the issues with the meal, it felt disappointing to pay as much as we did. While the restaurant was busy, which is often a good sign, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. Despite the efforts of the excellent staff and the cleanliness of the establishment, the main reason for our visit—to enjoy a satisfying meal—fell short. Although Perkins seems to be a popular spot, it’s clear that there's room for improvement. While we're not ruling out that it might have been an off day for the kitchen, based on this visit, we can't say we're eager to return. Read more
