Houston Pizza - Regina, Saskatchewan

Have enjoyed Houston Pizza franchises for close to 50 years but we are starting to reconsider our options. The penultimate time we visited for supper, the pizza was overdone -- not enough for me to refuse it but I had to consume what my wife rejected. I thought ... the problem minor enough to give my favourite restaurant another try. We visited again for a Sunday lunch. We explained what happened to the server and asked that care be taken that it not be repeated... reasonable, we thought. We were surprised to be told by the server that she would try to tell the cook but that the cook was not always in the best mood, so it might not be a good idea. Wow. In any case, the food was better than the previous time, but as we consumed it, we were bothered by the choice of music being played -- selections of urban/rap. It was loud and given the clientele at the time ( conservative estimate put the average age of the customers at 60) likely inappropriate. We asked if the music could be changed or the volume reduced and were told by the server that that was impossible. Again, this seemed surprising. I am loyal to businesses, sometimes to a fault, but this was disappointing. I give many chances but my wife does not. We were waiting at the restaurant for 50 minutes and the people sitting at the table next to us got there food before we got ours, and we were there first, and the food was horrible the quesadilla bread was soggy and the chicken was not cooked and it was ... cold, it was dripping from liquid, the quesadilla were not able to be eaten, the worst dinner, also the gravy was cold and tasted disgusting and had a think film on the top of it. I decided to treat the love of my life to a meal at Houston Pizza. Her remark? "You waited 36 years and took me halfway across the globe for this - well, it was worth the wait and the travel!" (We came to Canada from South Africa). Exquisite food, friendly staff and ... affordable prices - a sterling combination! Good place to unwind for a quality pizza. Note, it's not cheap but still has great pizza.

Was here 3 weeks ago owner was fantastic to talk with Food was one of the best places I’ve eaten at and that’s impressive knowing all the places I’ve been if you want 5/5 food & drinks this is the place to be Now we just need one in Winnipeg!!!
