McDonald’s - Regina, Saskatchewan

I went inside to eat today(June 7th around 6pm), and had one of the BEST experiences at a McDonalds in quite some time. To begin with, I requested some special items on my Jr Chickens(and they were happy to accommodate), the entire staff was in a great mood, and the manager(Lam I ... think his name was...I could be wrong), was running a tight ship. Every employee seemed to understand their role(s), it was like a well-oiled machine. Nobody yelling, or stepping over anybody else. The drive thrubwas running smooth, and the staff were communicating VERY well with one another. That manager was asking staff if they needed anything, and was also keeping up with att the SKIP orders like second nature(even reminding the drivers in a friendly manner to bring their delivery bags). Not one staff memeber was just standing around...the restaurant was spotless, and so tidy. This is what I've missed about the Fast Food industry...CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! TOP NOTCH! Even the nice young woman who put our order together was greeting EVERY customer with a very contagious smile, and greeting,...kinda like they were the only customer in the restaurant at the time! I obviously cannot gush enough about what a great experience we had earlier. It's truly not often one sees this, and unfortunately we have grown all too accustomed to lousy service at most places these days. This was a team! I'm still in awe. I came to order on feb 29,2024 1:53am from work. I just asked the employee taking my order at drive thru can you pls repeat my order just to check because i added some extra things, rather than repeating my order summary she replied very rudely that i have added ... everything, come to second window, when i drove further and asked why she was rude. She refused to listen what i was saying instead she was just asking do you want the food or no? ..McDonalds is that how you train your employees to give customer service ? Never gonna go there again. This establishment is very clean and the staff very friendly. I had a coffee and my husband a lemonade. The only problem is there is many homeless people hanging around this McDonald's with their hand out for money. I would prefer to buy them a meal then give them ... cash. It's okay but there's hardly any attention paid to cleaning after guests. That further limits the dining room. They also, no matter if you say "to stay", seem to only serve food on trays when compliance (management) is visiting. Makes a person feel somewhat unwelcome to stay. The irony is ... that trays, and not bags, might assist with the cleanliness in the dining room AND cost less. I feel if they committed to performing these two already existing practices consistently, they could be the best McD's in the province again. This McDonalds makes lots of money. That can't be an excuse for their failures in these departments. Staff is friendly and usually are accomodating. No issues there. Read more

About the food and their taste: I have absolutely no complaints. However in terms of service quality: It was really bad. I believe this not only happened to me personally, but many other customers as well. The waiting time at this McDonalds branch has happened to me on many visits. It ... must be said that its prime location makes the number of visitors always overloaded, but the management and restaurant owners seem to only care about profit, which must be put first priority by hiring a very small number of staff. I even tried asking a staff member when pointing to the "We are hiring" sign placed at a restaurant: "Are you looking to hire more people?". However, the manager then replied to me that the restaurant currently only hire part-time positions and has no need for full-time recruitment. That said, the manager and restaurant owner are willing to keep customers waiting, but have no intention of hiring more staff.
