Toad ‘N’ Turtle Pubhouse & Grill - Red Deer, Alberta

First time in here, and it was not a great experience. We came at 8:30pm and it wasn’t busy at all. Nice atmosphere, they have lounge zone and terrace on the second floor (dogs allowed yaaay) Menu seemed large and varied, but if you have exceptions in food - there is nothing to ... choose from. Most of the items on the menu are spicy, fatty, or high in meat. I got chicken thai salad with dressing on the side, and salad was still spicy, would you ask how? I don’t know. My boyfriend got stake and he loved it, but it was just hard to believe that it was 8 oz. Decent place, but no options for vegetarians. If there still options - weird combinations which doesn’t make sense. Nice thing - they have great deals, especially for steak lovers. Stopped in here for a bite on a road trip. Am I ever glad we did! Incredible food! Highly recommend the whipped feta dip. Fresh, lemony, and loaded with flavor! Had the chicken quesadilla and it was hands down the best I've ever had anywhere! Service was excellent and a ... choice of two outdoor patios a dog friendly patio downstairs is awesome too. We really enjoyed our food and excellent service. My dog Elsa did too. She said paws up. Her favorite part of the meal was the fries.

Always wanted to try this place, so we went here for dinner. We ordered Bruschetta for starter, wife had bruschetta chicken with pasta and I had the Brisket Grilled Cheese. The Food looked great but was onion-heavy in flavor in everything but the bruschetta chicken. It was quite ... overwhelming. I like onions but they need to compliment not overpower. The Toad 'N Turtle was a random choice that will be a new favorite when traveling through Red Deer. The atmosphere is unique, the service is amazing, the food was good, and the prices are decent. We had the brisket grilled cheese, Caesar salad, and toad stools (stuffed ... mushrooms). Toad stools are a must-have! The only suggestion I could make is that the music should be bardcore, to go with the medieval theme. Great place I highly recommend. Read more
