I just left Zoe's Java House where I was humiliated by the woman behind the counter for not placing my used dishes in the right spot. I sat them down while reaching for a napkin, she leaned over the counter to tell me not to leave them there. I ... attempted to pass them to her as she was leaning over the counter at the time, but she refused to take them. Instead she pointed to another shelf and told me to put them. I apologized and walked to where she was pointing. I once again put the plate down to dispose of the waste into the bin beside this shelf. She came towards me to tell me, no, not there. At which point I dropped the plate and cup unto the shelf, and said 'Do it yourself!' She replied 'I guess you can't read, huh.' As you can see there's no issue with my literacy. I don't expect to bus my own tables unless it's a fast food establishment, even at some of those my food is delivered to my table, it's not put someplace for me to pick up if my name is called. My returning my used dishes was a courtesy, a word you obviously are not familiar with. I don't work there, I pay to be served food not to be directed on how you want me to bus my table. Be thankful for my anti- confrontational personality, if I had given into the impulse I had at that moment, it would have ended very differently. Something I didn't mention when originally posting this is the reasons I stopped in there that day. There's not many places open at that time on Saturday afternoon. I was tired. I am a shift worker, and Saturday is my only day off. At that time, I was recovering from a back injury, having just returned to work full time. I forced myself to get out and go for a walk. Unfortunately,I walked further than I intended to and just wanted a place to sit down for a while that wasn't too fussy... instead, I found a manager who just likes to give customers a hard time.
