Mega Donair - Port Moody, British Columbia

Amazing!!! Hands down the BEST donair I've ever had. I can't believe I had never been to this place before, I'm honestly lowkey mad at myself for not having discovered this place earlier. How are they not more famous! First of all, they make everything fresh, including the pita wrap. It's ... soft, fluffy, I could eat the wrap on its own it's so good. None of that garbage wrap from a bag. My partner had the chicken rice plate, they were super accommodating and put it in our own takeout container - we always feel awkwardly granola asking stores to do this, sometimes we get a weird look but the lady was super cool about it. 5 stars for service!! That aside, the rice in the rice plate was SO good - flavourful, not too hard, not mushy either. The ratio of the meat to rice to vegetables was also perfect. Great amount of sauce too, not soaking my food but just right. Did I mention that the falafel was really good as well? I don't typically get falafel because a lot of places just microwave it and they taste like little shrivelled balls of something. Not here! If you haven’t been to Mega Donair in Port Moody, you’re missing out! This place is like the Aladdin's cave of donairs, filled with treasures of flavor and freshness. Very yellowly inside... First off, the pita bread here is so fresh, you’d think they had a team of genies in ... the back, flattening and heating it up right before your eyes. Seriously, watching them work the dough in the machine and then heating up on the stove like watching an ancient Middle Eastern cooking show – mesmerizing! Now, let's talk about the donairs themselves. These bad boys are stuffed with ingredients so fresh, they might as well have been plucked from the Garden of Eden. Each bite is a flavor explosion that’ll have you saying, “Open sesame!” for more. And the size? Let’s just say, Ali Baba would need more than 40 thieves to finish one of these beasts! We got the chicken 🍗 one, and was pleasantly satisfied after. Sure, Mega Donair might not be the cheapest eatery in the souk, but with the quality and freshness of their ingredients, plus the friendliness of the staff, it’s worth every dinar. The service is as warm as a Middle Eastern bazaar, and the flavors will take your taste buds on a magic carpet ride. Great lamb donair with generous proportions and very tasty! Well worth the drive over from Maple Ridge. Will keep coming back. Great little family run business with good menu, freshly made breads, and excellent taste to keep you satisfied. My belly is so full after polishing off a super size, ... I was just visiting in Port Moody when I saw the Mega Donair sign and I had to go in to see it for myself. I had heard good things from other people. Let me tell you that the meal was amazing. They make their own ... pita bread and they make it fresh for each customer. It was absolutely packed with so much food to eat. A rather unique approach with freshly made pita for each donair, you don't see this too often around here and it sure works well. Portions are very generous, I barely could finish the medium one. Great flavor and fresh ingredients.
