Black Beans - Port Hope, Ontario

My lunch partner's rare roast beef salad was incredibly good but it ends there for me. My open face turkey sandwich came with less than an ounce of Turkey meat and it was very overcooked. When waitress asked me if everything was ok I let her know and ... she told me she would convey this to the chef... but did not do anything at all about it. - The inside of the restaurant looked gorgeous. It seemed there were plenty of seats available but we were still only offered a place at the bar or outside ... no big deal on that point. I will probably check out other places when I am next in PH. My wife and I stopped by off Highway 401 as we were driving through Toronto. Awesome food! My steak was perfect and the service was amazing. I think Black Beans will become a regular stop.

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. Very cozy, warm setting with window seating, bar area, and a dining room. Staff are always excellent - speedy and attentive. Relatively small menu, but well balanced - and what they do, they do well. Everything is made in-house and portions of generous, ... delicious, and well priced. Bean there a few times and consistently one of the best steak I have had but much more than steak. Very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended. Prices are as expected at a good steak house.

Excellent! Food, service, and atmosphere were great, the cocktails were top notch. This was our first time so I can't justify a 5 star rating but if it's a repeat experience on our next visit I will definitely give 5 stars.
