John’s Chicken - Port Coquitlam, British Columbia

I want to do a shout out to John's Chicken in Port Coquitlam (Prairie & Coast Meridian). They have, in my opinion, the best fried chicken. It's much tastier than KFC, Brownies & Popeye's! The pieces are a decent size and prices are similar to Brownies. They also have the ... "crispiest" chicken than all of the above as well. Their Crispy Chicken recipe really bulks up the chicken with extra batter and is unlike anything around - truly. They must sell a lot of the Crispy Chicken as the Regular/Original Chicken that I like to order (shown in the image) is almost by special order. Each time I order it - I have to wait and it is cooked fresh - so I will often order it in advance. Last week I ordered a 12 piece box and it came fresh out of the fryer. I let out a bit of steam and drove home to Maple Ridge. The chicken was still piping hot when I got home! If you arrive early in the afternoon, you have the option, when available, to buy cold chicken at half price! Not too many places do that I don't think. If you are chicken lover, give this place a try and see if it might be maybe your new fav place for chicken. Buy a mix of the regular and the crispy so you can compare. Enjoy! Read more

My husband found this place by accident. John's Chicken is located on 1475 Prairie Ave in Port Coquitlam, which is 10 mins away drive from my place. Before we moved to Port Coquitlam, I have never eaten Chicken like this fresh and juicy. It's a small restaurant, but it has ... few locations in the great Vancouver area. It's used to be 2 people working at the restaurant. They took the order first and then start to cook the chicken. That's why the chicken is super fresh and juicy. We always ordered 3pcs chicken meal and original a chicken sandwich from this please. 3pcs Chicken Meal is only $10.99, which comes with 1 small side, 1 small gravy and 1 small drink. Sometimes we ordered Onion Rings too. Even though we have to wait for a little bit longer sometimes, we believe it's totally worth the prices and time. Very awesome chicken. Very friendly and helpful staff. I had extra crunchy chicken. It was tasty and so juicy. I loved it. I did not think the fries were going to be very good. However they have a great flavour. I'll be back to try their other types of chicken.

Good quality fried chicken and very friendly service. They fried the chicken right after receiving the order. The place reopened after the new year after a reno. The storefront looks refreshed. Price is reasonable. Downsides include 1. Tough biscuits (almost inedible) and 2. Washroom not working.

BEST CHICKEN I've ever tried in my life!! I ordered 3pc chicken and gravy. That chickens are so crispy but not greasy at all! I'll come back that place very soon!!!
