East Side Mario’s - Pickering, Ontario

I honestly haven't been to Eastside Marios since the late 90s just because there are so many new restaurant options since then. Finally took my own kid here the other day because we used to go here a lot as a family when I was younger because my parents loved ... eating the endless bread and salad and I'm glad they haven't changed that aspect of the dining experience. They've even added soup options (or maybe it was always there and I don't remember) which I really like. Italian wedding and ravioli are both good. The bread and butter are still tasty, my son loved it and kept wanting more. The pastas are not going to compete with higher end places in Little Italy but they are still good. As far as chain restaurants go, I think it's quite a good bang for your buck and very family friendly so we'll be coming back here again. Read more

The calamari was fresh and tender, perfectly seasoned and accompanied by a flavorful dipping sauce. Pizza was good and food didn't take too long. But We waited well over 15 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order which was odd because it was not busy on a Saturday around 3pm. I recently dined here and had a fantastic experience. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. They had an incredible Valentine's Day deal with generous portions – I couldn't finish all the food and had to bring some home. Highly recommend!

Service was fine but it was a slow lunch rush. Both my son and I had soup to start (one tomato and one potato and bacon) and both were lukewarm at best. Pizza seemed to lack sauce but was tasty even though it also was not hot when it arrived. ... $13.99 at lunch for individual pizza and soup or salad is a good deal, but kitchen has to work on timing issues so food arrives at proper temperature.
